My ideal way to spend the weekend would be sleeping in until 10 or 11, going out to brunch, and reading a good book. I love brunch because there are a variety of foods you can eat from pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, and french toast. My favorite book at the moment is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I couldn't put the book down and finished it in 3 days.
If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, I would pick sushi. There are many varieties of sushi and I don't think I could ever get tired of eating it. I could not live without a caterpillar roll!
I looked forward to volunteering at the Giants Race. My friend who volunteered at the Giants Race last year told me how much fun she had and that I should volunteer with her the following year. The event was very organized and definitely lived up to my expectations. All of the volunteers were very encouraging to every single runner who crossed the finish line.
My experience working with HIM has been lots of fun. At every event I've volunteered at it's always well organized. I've also met lots of new people from other high schools who all love to help their community.
HIM has brought me out of my comfort zone by volunteering at events I never heard of before such as the Giants Race. I'm not a very outgoing person and through HIM I've slowly broken out of my shell to meet new people. Everyone I've met makes me feel welcome to the HIM community.
