How important do you think It Is to ‘Build Character’?

It is incredibly important to build character, as that is what makes you unique and respected. Having your personal values and goals built out really helps you figure out the best way to with others and move past setbacks. Character development keeps you true to yourself, feel at ease in your own skin, and have faith in both who you are and what you want to do.

What is your current HIM position and what are your responsibilities in that position?

I am currently an Outreach SC, which primarily entails creating the designs you see on our social media! This department position really helps you establish a detail-oriented mindset, develop collaboration skills, and pick up experience in graphic design applications. Very much a rewarding role to take on and we're always looking to have new additions to the team!

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Why?

Honestly, any Chinese dish! Since I mainly grew up eating those dishes, they will always bring a comforting feeling and keep me connected to my Asian heritage.

being able to see the work that you're doing in the moment, to interact with the athletes, to see how excited their family is to see them finish a race.

What advise can you offer to those thinking of joining the Leadership Program?

If you feel that you are skilled, this program is an opportunity to further develop these skills and lead others to do the same! If you do not feel quite as skilled as you could be yet, now’s the time to push yourself and become a multi-talented individual through the various departments/roles within Leadership! Either way, you will definitely obtain a ton of experience and make many, perhaps, unexpected connections along the way. You have nothing to lose, go for it!
