Class of 2024
If I became invisible right now, I would go into my teacher laptops and change some of my grades to 100%. As someone applying to college in a few months, it is important for me to maintain good grades. It would also help me boost my GPA!
What motivates me is knowing my goals. Setting long term and short term goals as helped guide me to where I am now and makes me feel organized and helps me manage my time. I also keep in mind that I won't get far unless I put hard work and determination into my work.
I think building character is important. It shows that we can grow and become better people in the future. Building character can mean different things, from personality, to finding a new hobby!
I am currently a Junior Coordinator at Heart in Motion. A few responsibilities that I hold are attending events, going to my TTT sessions, and occasionally be TC for events.
The most valuable lesson that I've learned was to "just keep swimming." Despite our life's ups and downs knowing that we are capable to push through and get the work done motivates me to do more in life and has helped me go through tough times.
My favorite TV show would have to be Grey's Anatomy. This show has inspired me to have a career in the medical field and motivates me to work hard. My favorite character from the show would be the main character, Meredith Grey. Despite her downs in life, she was able to be one of the most successful surgeons in the country.
If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would have to be strawberries. You can put it with anything, in a smoothie, yogurt, toast, and milk! You can do so many interesting food combinations with strawberries too!
Being in the Heart in Motion Leadership Crew makes you feel like your part of a community. Everyone in leadership is very friendly and welcoming.
Heart in Motion has affected my life by pushing me out of my comfort zone at times. I have been able to interact with not only the other members but other volunteers at events. I was also able to build responsibility for things that I do in leadership.
What motivates me to wake up early to volunteer is knowing how much I will be helping my community. I'm not only helping my community but volunteering with my friends and other wonderful people that are part of Heart in Motion.
Some advise for those thinking of joining the Leadership Program is to keep an open mind, be organized, and get our of your comfort zone. In Heart in Motion you're going to be working and meeting new and different people and it is important to keep and open mind when making interactions, many times, you will disagree with a member an it is important to acknowledge what they say. Keeping organized is important especially because you're going to be working on multiple apps and documents. Lastly, getting out of your comfort zone is important especially during events, you're going to be interacting with not only other member of Heart in Motion, but other volunteers at the events and sometimes the participants.
