I would probably sneak out and do stuff that my parents won't let me do. I would probably freak out as well.
Meeting certain goals and accomplishing many things motivates me the most. I wouldn't say that I am an easily motivated person because it takes a lot for me to be motivated. My friends, family, and teachers motivate me the most as well as seeing other people become successful and achieving their goals.
I think that building character is quite important. It also depends on the person, but for me, building character was a huge step in making me the person I am today. Being in HIM has definitely changed myself. It helped me develop my leadership skills and take on roles that involve huge commitment.
My current HIM position is an Outreach Coordinator and an Executive Assistant. My responsibility for Outreach is making posts and posting them by the designated date. For example, I have made two birthday shoutout posts, a few IWC's, and one holiday post. My responsibilities as an EA are updating docs, hosting intern tests, and attending EA meetings on Sundays.
The most valuable lesson I have learned in my life was to make every moment count. Life moves pretty fast when you least expect it. Time is short and valuable, and you never know will what happen tomorrow.
My favorite TV show currently is Gilmore Girls. My favorite character is Lorelai Gilmore. She is an amazing, stunning, hot, beautiful, and a funny woman.
If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be ice cream. Who doesn't like ice cream? It is such a savory food with many unique, delicious flavors. I crave ice cream any day.
It's a pretty cool experience being a part of HIM Leadership Crew. I've been able to work with many people and enhance my designing skills. The PMs and Directors are pretty professional and they can answer whatever questions and concerns I have.
HIM has affected my life tremendously. I have gotten better at communicating with other people, doing leadership tasks, and taking initiative. I also met one of my best friends through HIM. Her name is Sofia Bruno. Without Sofia being in my life, I would probably be a totally different person than I am now.
Advice that I can offer to those thinking of joining the Leadership Program - just do it. Joining the Leadership Program does not take up too much of your time, and the commitment isn't too bad. It's definitely something that will stand out on your resume or college application. There are a few mandatory tasks that people in Leadership must do, but they are easy and not too tedious.
