Currently, most of my time online is spent on https://replit.com/ coding. It is the only reliable platform I've found the lets you collaborate on a project online with friends with real-time updates, and I've been doing a lot of programming nowadays! Most of my major projects are on this website too, which just gives me one more reason to hop on randomly throughout the day.
The ancient mathematician, astronomer, and physicist Gauss inspires me to be the person I am today. It's not because of who he was and what he discovered — I admire his unorthodox method of thinking, how he always tried to find solutions to problems even if they had been deemed as "impossible" at the time. I sometimes do things "not how I'm supposed to do them" but still succeed, and would definitely look for an easier solution if one looks probable.
I would probably spend most or all of my time at home unleashing my creativity through various methods. These might include building, editing together a video project, or creating something out of code. I particularly enjoy making AIs, as I find the prospect of giving life to something lifeless an interesting ability that we have.
I think the one thing people misunderstand about me is about what I do each day. I'm one of those people who are just obsessed with STEM topics, and considered "outstanding" in the majority of STEM fields by my classmates. They think that because I am "outstanding," life is just "easier" for me. However, this is completely false. The better you are, the higher the expectations that are thrown at you will be. You'll find yourself flailing around in a pool of unmet expectations and broken promises.
If I knew I was going to die in one hour, I would try to come in terms with this fact. Mourning over your impending doom will just result in one hour wasted, your last hour gone. I would try and think on the "positive" side, looking for questions that can finally be answered. "What happens after death?" I would try and say goodbye to everyone I know, and be satisfied with the experiences I've had.
There are various things that I probably could not live without, but a few stand out. I would not be able to live a day without communication. I hate being alone for extended periods of time, and a day without anyone... well, that would be brutal. Without communication, you'll get the feeling that you're truly alone in this world, with no one to stand beside you.
If I could make one rule, it would probably be that fact that everyone's voice should be equally valued, which it is not in various situations. Too many times was I shut down by the simple phrase "we're older than you." One should explain their reasoning for rejecting an opinion, a reasoning that is preferably not "we're older/more knowledgeable/more experienced than you."
Waking up early to volunteer for a Charity Run usually comes naturally for me. Volunteer events are breaks from the consistent study environment that fills everybody's days in high school to me. It's also heartwarming later on to recount what you've done in the past, and I hope that each event can just be one more welcome addition to the story of my life. You also get to connect with various people, both volunteers and participants.
Heart in Motion has given me a lot of opportunities to meet new people while also helping out at events. HIM has become a part of my identity, something that defines me. HIM events has provided a break from the monotonous studying that fills my days. I get to learn things with hands-on projects instead of reading from a book, something that's not commonly seen. I hope that HIM will continue affecting my life in this positive way.
I think that the HIM Internship Program is doing exactly what it was designed to do. I learned a lot about the structures of HIM, and I started to feel a connection with HIM. I had also become less "shy" in the way of turning on my camera or speaking amidst people I know nothing about outside of the organization. The lessons each night also let me take a break from school work and homework, and learn something else that is interesting.
If life is a game, the rules would be the current existing laws and implied laws, and also the fact that there's no second chance. In most games, there is always a way you can re-play a game — have you ever heard of a game where you can only play it once? However, in life, you only get one chance. There's no undo button or restart button. Once you decide, you can't take your decision back.
I want to be remembered for my contributions (including future ones) to society. I want to be remembered for the elements of my identity, regardless of whether they are good or bad. I want to be remembered for being an active person (socially, that is). I want to be remembered for being myself.
