Events Acting Program Manager & Executive Assistant

Since it is nearing Halloween right now, I would try to scare everyone around me and see if I could get funny reactions out of them! I would attempt to walk through people and act like I'm a ghost! I would carry my large 5-foot teddy bear and chase people around with it so it seems like the bear is ALIVE. I would also hold random items to make it seem like they're "floating."
What motivates me the most is my future. If I try my best right now and put my best foot forward, I'm hoping it will pay off in the future. Since I'm interested in pursuing the medical field, it takes years of dedication and commitment. Starting early gives me a head start and gets me ready for college and future opportunities!
I'm an Events APM and EA. My responsibilities in this position are to make sure events run smoothly and everyone has a good experience volunteering! I work with my fellow Event PMs to try to manage teams, attend weekly meetings, and ensure the event officers are contributing as well. I am also a part of the Microsoft team where we experiment using different Microsoft applications and see what we could use that would be useful in HIM!
Since I am the most indecisive person ever, it's really hard to decide, but I really like TV shows of all types of genres. I really like Squid Games, My Name, and Girl from Nowhere. All of these shows have that thriller action aspect that makes it so enjoyable to watch. My favorite characters from the shows are Kang Sae-Byeok, Yoon Ji-Woo, and Nanno. I also watch a lot of Kids TV shows, such as Wild Kratts. I've been watching Wild Kratts ever since I was little and I love how it teaches everyone about different types of animals and their lifestyle.
I would eat hotpot because of its diversity and how many ingredients you can use. There are so many different components and setting everything up is so much fun as well! There's the soup, the meat, the vegetables, and the dipping sauces. You can put your own spin it and customize it to your liking!
Being a part of the HIM Leadership Crew is basically being in a second family. You collaborate, communicate, and give each other a helping hand. Not only are you improving your professionalism and job skills, but meeting new people too! The organization itself is really organized and there are always people to help you if you struggling. I get to work with a lot of amazing people and I'm so glad I decided to apply!
HIM is definitely a big part of my life. I used to be antisocial and was nervous when I first started, but I learned so much ever since. Basic skills like communication, working with various applications, and organization are all useful to me in the future! I also improved my professionalism and job skills which I can take with me in the future as well! Being apart of this amazing community-led to growth, improvement, and new friendships!
I usually don't mind waking up early because of my messed-up sleeping schedule. I think it makes me feel refreshed and energized in a sense. What motivates me the most though is getting to see my friends and the HIM community. I also really like interacting with the runners and I love that I'm contributing and helping out. These events create fun precious memories that I would never forget!
I know you're probably hesitating right now and wondering if this is worth your time and effort, but it definitely is! There's so much opportunity that comes from joining HIM Leadership. You improve many of your skills and get to volunteer with your friends! I know a lot of people have busy schedules so it's hard to make time for this, but once you get settled in, you are a part of a great community!
