Internship Program Manager & Executive Assistant
A.P. Giannini
Class of 2021
If I were to become visible for 10 minutes right now, I would go outside and open doors for people. It’ll be a nice and slightly scary gesture :). I’m interested in seeing how people would react if a door just magically opened for them.
Remembering why I do something motivates me. Whether it’s because I want to make an impact, or because it makes me genuinely happy, reminding myself exactly what my motive is, always motivates me to keep trying harder.
I think building character is very important. Taking past experiences and situations to improve yourself will create changes that will eventually shape you to become a better and unique person.
I am currently an Internship Program Manager and Executive Assistant. My responsibilities as an Internship Program Manager include working with other PMs to monitor lessons for interns, manage Train the Trainer/Mentoring groups, and check-in with the coordinators in the Internship Department.
I want to be remembered as someone who was caring, determined, and able to make a positive difference in someone else’s life.
One of the most valuable lessons that I’ve learned is that you receive what you give out. If you put more effort into a project, the project will most likely turn out better than if you didn’t put as much effort. If you treat others with respect and kindness, they’ll most likely do the same for you!
I don’t watch TV shows, so I don’t have a favorite character or TV show.
If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, I would choose to eat potatoes. I don’t think I’ll get sick eating potatoes because there are so many things you can do with a potato. You can make anything from mashed potatoes to french fries, to potato wedges.
Being part of HIM Leadership Crew is fantastic! Everyone is super helpful and they're willing to help to the best of their ability. The officers in Leadership are accountable and friendly. You also get to work with new people each term, and overall, HIM is just an amazing community!
Through HIM, I have become more familiar with various applications and platforms. HIM has also improved my public speaking and communication skills. These skills that I've gained from HIM can help beyond just working HIM. I'm now more comfortable with speaking up in discussions and sharing my ideas. Most importantly, HIM has allowed me to give help the community while having fun!
Join! If you have some time you can commit to Heart in Motion, it’ll be great if you just apply! It’s a great way for you to learn some new skills, become more experienced with different platforms, and meet other students. Like many extracurriculars though, you do need to work hard and put effort into it, but you’ll gain so much along the way!
